In Saudi Arabia’s competitive job market, most high-paying roles list fluency in English as a baseline requirement. If you’re a non-native speaker, think of the last time you applied to a job that didn’t ask for English. If you’re a student, think of the curriculum you’re currently studying that’s entirely in English, and the challenges you’d be facing if it weren’t for the strong foundation you acquired.
Perhaps in response to this growing need for fluency, Dar Al-Hekma has introduced several programs designed to improve English proficiency for non-native speakers. The faculty members who teach these programs are professionals in their fields and are deeply familiar with the challenges learners face and how daunting taking on a second language can be.
When you catch yourself thinking in English without translating, when an interviewer suddenly shifts into English for a complex question, and you answer without skipping a beat — that’s the level you’ll be at thanks to Dar Al-Hekma’s programs.
Take our Commercial Law LLM students. Alongside legal knowledge, they need the ability to draft contracts in English and argue cases flawlessly. That’s where advanced English training meets specialized expertise.
General English Program
For busy professionals struggling to balance work and life, finding the right time to improve English skills can feel like a giant undertaking. But that’s exactly why DAH’s General English program is the right fit.
This program is designed specifically for working adults who want to perfect or simply work on their English, and it’s tailored to suit their schedules. It’s made up of 11 levels that build practical language skills and help you advance in your career or communicate more easily.
Here’s what you can expect:
- Starter to Upper-Intermediate progression (11 total levels)
- Sunday to Wednesday classes, 2.5 hours per day
- Hands-on learning with small group practice and real-world application
- Certification, awarded after each completed level
Intensive English Program
Mastering a second language as an adult comes with its own set of challenges. Thankfully, Dar Al-Hekma’s ELD program makes it surprisingly achievable. This program deviates from dry textbooks and repetitive memorization models. It’s a 12-level intensive that actually tailors itself to your language needs.
Each 5-week level includes 100 hours of specific instruction—Sundays through Wednesdays, from 9 AM to 1:15 PM. Lessons focus on application over theory, and the hybrid British-American approach means you’ll master both formal writing in all its precision and conquer everyday conversation with its natural flows.
And because tech is woven into every stage of learning, you’ll be using Quizlet for vocabulary skills, Google Docs for collaborative writing, and even Story Creator to build those narrative skills.
This program works because it treats English as an actual living skill, one you will use in all facets of life, be it professional, academic, or just the everyday.
English for Young Learners
Science backs what many teachers already know: young minds are especially receptive to language learning, and the skills they pick up early tend to last a lifetime.
Dar Al-Hekma’s English for Young Learners Program is built with that in mind. Aimed at students aged 10 to 15, the program is a terrific blend of games, group projects, and interactive exercises with just the right dose of grammar and vocabulary work.
And because pressure is known to hinder progress in younger learners, DAH’s qualified instructors keep lessons engaging while gently tracking each learner’s progress.
This program is set to begin in earnest during the Summer of 2025, and it’s going to offer a world of benefits for younger learners.
You could be a working professional or a parent seeking to give your child a competitive academic edge. In all cases, Dar Al Hekma’s English programs are there to suit your needs. With expert instructors, they build fluency and open doors for you to succeed in all areas of life.
